Warranty questions
When does a warranty start — purchase date or installation?
Usually the purchase (invoice) date. For products that need installing, like ACs and water purifiers, some brands start the warranty from installation instead — check your warranty card.
What's the difference between comprehensive and compressor warranty?
A comprehensive warranty covers the whole product (parts and labour) for a short period, typically a year. A compressor or motor warranty is longer but covers only that one part, and often not gas refills or labour.
Do I need the invoice to claim a warranty?
Almost always. Brands ask for the purchase invoice (and sometimes the warranty card or serial number) as proof of the start date. Keep a photo of both.
How long before expiry should I get it checked?
Two to four weeks before the end date leaves time to book a service visit and claim anything that's not working properly while it's still covered.
